Students in Mr. Wnukowski's Civics class examined the main theme for the year this past week. Order vs. Chaos. Students observed a painting by Kandinsky that depicts both order and chaos. Once students saw the painting, they had to establish terms that related to order and other words that related to chaos (they had some great examples- sloppy joes, their little brother's room and their lockers were chaotic while fish sticks, laws, and judges are orderly. Once students organized their terms, they had to relate how our government can be both chaotic and orderly at the same time. Students cited thoughtful examples of how the government tries to bring order to chaos and vice versa.

Our first 8th grade lunch was a wonderful experience! Students came to play games, catch up from the summer, and also catch up on some reading! I always love having lunch with this crew! They sure can play a good game of Apples to Apples!
Welcome back 8th graders! I can't believe the summer is already over! I can't wait to see you all and work with you and your teachers this school year! I've changed classrooms so come visit me in room 130!
