Students in Mrs. Marchand's 8th grade English class just finished reading the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. To explore the characters and the happenings in the novel, students participated in Socratic Seminars. Students did an outstanding job of digger deeper into the characters and learning what it could be like to stand in their shoes.
Students in Mr. McDowell's Earth Science classes are stepping up to the plate to help the Governor. He wants residents, environmentalists, and politicians to assist him with deciding ways to increase energy independence for the state. Students are researching ways to use natural resources effectively to produce energy. They will be creating a presentation for the Governor to persuade him that their "way" is the best way.
