Students in Mrs. Sutterluety's classes are researching heroes throughout time in conjunction with learning how to compose thesis statements . Students selected 3 different types of heroic archetypes- from ancient times, from a comic and from modern day. Using Edmodo, students compared and contrasted these 3 heroes to discover if and how the heroic archetype has changed over time.

After reading the title, you're probably wondering well what is a Taba? The Taba Model is named after Hilda Taba who was a curriculum theorist, educator and author. The model allows for students to think using inductive reasoning and higher order thinking skills. Students in Mr. McDowell's Earth Science class participated in a Taba using the four systems of Earth Science-the hydrosphere, atmosphere, geosphere and biosphere. Students listed terms associated with the systems and had to further group these terms by similar characteristics. At the conclusion of the activity, students were able to understand that all these systems are interrelated and can impact one another.
