Students in Ms. Clark's English class participated in an activity today focusing on mindsets. Students initially watched a video of a robot trying to flip pancakes, but the robot continued to fail. After some interventions with the scientists, the robot finally succeeded in flipping the pancake. Students then discussed challenges they have faced as a student, and ways they were able to work through them. Students then wrote their own mindset moment where they focused on an obstacle and how they used a growth mindset to overcome it.

Students in Mrs. Clark's English class discussed and debated statements based off the novel they will soon begin, A Long Walk to Water. Students were provided with statements such as, "Man is basically good" and "Government should solve its people's problems". After deciding whether they agree or disagree with the statement, students debated why they feel the way they do. Students had the ability to switch sides after listening to the information and thoughts their classmates provided. It was such an amazing experience to listen to the thoughtful conversations of these students.
